EM Skills Move Forward Programme
I am pleased to invite Electively Home Educated teenagers to a Free, Fully Funded course starting 1st October 2018 for 20 weeks.
There are limited places available, so please complete the form below to apply or express your interest in a place and I will contact you to offer an induction and enrolment interview on either 26th, 27th or 28th September. Parents must attend interviews with their student.
Venue – AWE Club Waltham Abbey, Essex
Ages 14 to 19 years
Starts 1st October for 20 weeks
- Monday, Tuesday and Friday weekly 9.30am to 3.30pm
- Wednesday and Thursday weekly – Work Experience / GCSE studies elsewhere eg AWE Club lessons, or self directed learning
City and Guilds Functional Skills English
City and Guilds Functional Skills Maths
City and Guilds Functional Skills ICT
City and Guilds L1 Certificate in IT User Skills
ICQ L1 Award in Work Skills
Work Experience is compulsory
The course will be run by a new team led by an experienced teacher who is also a Home Educator with new support staff too. There will be an opportunity every Friday at 3pm for parents to meet with the lead tutor for feedback and advice. Teens will be given a timetable showing exactly what work will be covered each week as well as what homework will be needed. Students will use a log book in order for parents, teens, and tutors to keep in touch each week.

It may be possible for students to move through more than one level of English and maths with parental support, homework and independent study. This will be explained in detail to parents and teens at the meeting with the directors.
Previous students are welcome to return if they wish to take the next level exams.
