I have been able to form a partnership with EM Skills to enable AWE to run a 13-week rolling programme at the AWE Home Ed Club in Waltham Abbey. This opportunity gives young people the opportunity to gain qualifications and skills for free. The English and maths qualifications are tailored to suit each individual learning ability, level and style of learning.
At the end of the 13 weeks, each young person will have the opportunity to achieve recognised qualifications, at Level 1 or 2. Level 2 qualifications which are recognised as being equivalent to a GCSE. Please see HERE for more information.
These qualifications are recognised by colleges and employers and can be used to gain entry to subsequent courses or apprenticeships. They can use this as a standalone qualification or as a stepping stone to further their knowledge or to go on to GCSE/IGCSE study.
The young person will need to attend AWE Club Waltham Abbey every Monday, Tuesday and Friday for the full 13 weeks from 9.30 to 3/3.30pm.
Teachers are skilled specialists in supplying these qualifications with years of experience. This Fully Funded Free programme is open to all Home Educated young people age 15+ and living in the Essex area, including those with special needs.
Laptops and resources will be provided for use in the classroom for the duration of the classes and programme.
Each young person will complete an assessment in English and maths at the start of the programme, this is for us to tailor a unique programme giving them the opportunity to work towards qualifications at their own personal level.
